ABOUT THE CLUB

We’ve Got Team Spirit!

Springhead Park Bowls Club was formed in 1930, and up until the end of 2014 we played all of our home matches on the municipal greens at Springhead Park, Hull.
With the demise of the Springhead Ladies Bowls Club, it was decided to throw our membership open to all and in 2006 Springhead Park became a mixed club and we are proud that it was our proposal and efforts which persuaded the local League to do the same.
Early 2015 saw the club move to its new  sharing the excellent facilities at Riverview, Tranby Avenue, Heads Lane, Hessle.
This was an exciting move for the club and we look forward to many happy and successful years at our new home.
Springhead have a reputation for being a very friendly, as well as competitive club and our membership is open to both men and women of any age and ability.
As we affiliate to the English Bowling Federation, Bowls England, Humberside County and Yorkshire County Bowling Associations, as well as the Humberside EBA League, Humberside Sports Association and the Hull & District Associations, as you can guess we have a very busy and varied outdoor season. However it does mean that we can enter teams and individuals in to a full range of leagues and knockout competitions.
As well as Bowls matches, we do organise Social Nights Out. an annual Three Day Trip to the World Championships at Potters Resort and a Race Night which helps with club funds.
We also have an Open Day, where any potential members can come along, have a chat, a cup of tea, game of Bowls and get to know us.
So, if you feel like giving Bowls a try, in a friendly and safe environment, want some fun and to meet some nice people, give the Secretary a call, he will be more than happy to have a chat and give you any information you need.
